Armed Citizen

I do not have the time that I would like to spend venting on this blog.  I am working full time, for less than half the pay I used to.  I am going to school again full time, taking a 180 degree turn from what I did to pursue what I want to do.  I also have a large family, who I love to spend time with, although it is not very often, especially now.  And yet......I am full of anger, and upset at those who would have my grandkids shoulder a debt, that I doubt at this point they will even be able pay.  So what democrat has me fired up now you ask? No democrat my friend, but a republican.  A few of them in fact. Okay, where should I start?  Well, first of all I am proud of the almost overwhelming solidarity against Obamacare from the republicans.  That is to be applauded to be sure.  But it if it was just partisan, then the Dems could have pushed this through before Scott Brown ever won his seat.  So, if democrats can't even ...

Another "Gun Free Zone" Tragedy. Apparently it’s not enough for our government that the heroes in America’s armed forces risk their lives overseas defending our freedom. These days, our soldiers aren't even safe here at home stationed on secure military bases. On November 5th, a lone gunman murdered 13 fully-trained, ready to deploy soldiers, and wounded 29 more, in the most shocking terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. How was Nidal Hasan, a psychologist, able to take down so many trained soldiers? Because the government thinks its better to keep it’s armed service members unarmed . . . That’s right. Our military men and woman are banned from carrying the weapons they are trained and trusted to use in the heat of combat. The Sons of Liberty In Boston in early summer of 1765 a group of shopkeepers and artisans who called themselves The Loyal Nine, began preparing for agitation against the Stamp Act. When this nation was struggling with how to stand strong in the world shortly after earning it's freedom at the cost of much blood and sacrifice, there were many differing ideas on how to do this. Several years ago, I watched then-"20/20" correspondent Diane Sawyer interview Saddam Hussein, who was dictator of Iraq at the time. She respectfully confronted him for the atrocities and executions he used as punishments for people who merely spoke out against him, his rule or his politics. Surprisingly naive of America's constitutional basis, Saddam asked, "Well, what happens to those who speak against your president?" (He clearly was expecting that such speech was also a crime in the U.S. and punishable by law.) Shocked by his sheer ignorance of the U.S. -- and somewhat at a loss for words herself -- Diane quipped back in answering his question, "They host television talk shows!" Thank God and the Navy SEALs that they all got out alive. But will Americans be as lucky next time?During 2008 alone, these thugs raided more than 130 vessels, resulting in 50 successful hijackings and millions of dollars paid in ransoms. With at least five well-organized pirate gangs off the Horn of Africa -- including the al-Shabab militia, which is a group of Islamic extremists that some people compare to the Taliban -- all seeking and splitting the spoils of these sea traders, isn't it time America better protects our merchant mariners in volatile areas, such as off the Somali coast? Just when I thought California was lost forever, Orange County Sheriff crosses that line in the sand that wakes up it's citizens. During President Bush's last Innaugural celebration he was assailed for the exhorbiant amount of money spent on the gala's and additional security. Now, the money spent on the Balls and the other events are funded by private monies. That did not stop the critics of President Bush who said his supporters should spend that money somewhere else. They stated there were more pressing issues in the world that could use the money. The Facts: Bush's supporters spen over 40 million dollars on innauguration week. For Bush's innauguration, 10,000 additional security forces (FBI i.e.) were used in Washington. Obama's supporters are spending over 200 million dollars on innauguration week. For Obama's innauguration, 50,000 additional security forces are being used in Washington So, This was just to set the record Straight!

President Bush has commuted the prison sentences of former Border Patrol Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean! I have to admit that I was more than a little worried that President Bush was not going to do the right thing. I actually did a fist pump driving down the highway when I heard the news.
