Will it be a crime to have your own opinion?

Outlawing opinion by Chuck Norris It greatly alarms me that Americans' constitutional right of freedom of speech is being squeezed out of our culture. Several years ago, I watched then-"20/20" correspondent Diane Sawyer interview Saddam Hussein, who was dictator of Iraq at the time. She respectfully confronted him for the atrocities and executions he used as punishments for people who merely spoke out against him, his rule or his politics. Surprisingly naive of America's constitutional basis, Saddam asked, "Well, what happens to those who speak against your president?" (He clearly was expecting that such speech was also a crime in the U.S. and punishable by law.) Shocked by his sheer ignorance of the U.S. -- and somewhat at a loss for words herself -- Diane quipped back in answering his question, "They host television talk shows!" Saddam's facial expression revealed that he was totally confused by her answer. Sounds so far-out, doesn'...

Tea Party in Arizona

Image
Yes, Arizona is alive and well. Something about being around thousands of like minded patriots that really invigorates me. Americans of ALL ages were present and accounted for. It is our children and grandchildren who are really saddled with all this debt after all. Because of the layoff last month, I find myself working several lower paying jobs to try and make ends meet. So I was not able to show up to the event until right about 6:00pm. I have to say that as I was driving past the crowds already gathered on sidewalks and holding signs on corners, I got chills right down my spine. I was pleased to see that Ronald Wilson Reagan was represented. I believe in what he said when he stated that government is not the answer, govt. is the problem. We need to shrink Govt., not grow it! I had an awesome conversation with this lady. She said that she does not like to label herself as anything but an American but feels betrayed by the media and being exploited by Obama for political gain. We ar...

A Time For Choosing!

The following is a stump speech for Barry Goldwater given by Ronald Wilson Reagan in 1964. It still gives me goosebumps. Who will be the Reagan of OUR day? Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you and good evening. The sponsor has been identified, but unlike most television programs, the performer hasn't been provided with a script. As a matter of fact, I have been permitted to choose my own words and discuss my own ideas regarding the choice that we face in the next few weeks. I have spent most of my life as a Democrat. I recently have seen fit to follow another course. I believe that the issues confronting us cross party lines. Now, one side in this campaign has been telling us that the issues of this election are the maintenance of peace and prosperity. The line has been used, "We've never had it so good." But I have an uncomfortable feeling that this prosperity isn't something on which we can base our hopes for the future. No nation in history has ever surviv...

The Un-Fairness Doctrine.

To sign a petition to protect and preserve EVERYONES right to free speech, click here . Personally what liberals on the left are calling the revival of the fairness doctrine is anything but fair. A more appropriate name would be the silence doctrine or the censorship bill. It is no secret that the mainstream media is very left leaning. In fact, if they leaned any more to the left they would walk in constant circles. And yet liberals are threatened. For years liberals controlled what the American people saw on the news. Then with technology came cable television and more and more choices. Operating on the free market approach, many conservative news choices found their way into the American living room. Fox News to name but the most known. It was immediately dubbed the 'new media' and chastised for being too conservative. But now there was a choice, and there was a market for what was being offered. Fox News is now more watched than ever, offering an arguably(not by m...
