Tu necessita habla espanol

Do I have your attention? Senator Obama thinks that we as Americans have a responsibility to teach our children Spanish . Now, is that a bad thing? Lets analyze it shall we. What his comment was is as follows. He was commenting on an English Only bill proposal. He stated, and I summarize, "English only?!? Immigrants will learn English eventually. Why do we want to exclude people? When Europeans come to America they speak German, French(who cares) and English. And when Americans go to Europe we can only say"-insert his two word french statement I think- "It is embarrassing .!" So what I want to know is, who the flip cares? I do think it is great when others speak many languages. Our founding fathers spoke many languages. Many self taught themselves Latin , french and the like as well as learning English . BIN LADEN DEAD?!

The news is all over the place now.  It is front page news at the New York Times even.  I for one am glad that he is finally dead.  The Times story says that he has been killed and so I await the details as the rest of America does.  Forgive me if I hurl if our illustrious President attempts to somehow take any credit for his death.  We all know better than that right?  In fact, I am actually worried that Obama will tear up and announce funeral arrangements for a martyr.  He wont condone his actions of course, just admire his convictions and lament his lack of opportunities to sit down with such a great individual.  Hear that?  Its me throwing up! Anyway, I for one am not the least bit broken up about that scum kicking the bucket.  In fact, I hope it was a long and drawn out death.  I would relish the idea of him having actually being caught 5 years ago and just now succumbing to the torture.  And that still would be too go...

Another soldier gives his everything for me!

Yesterday I got a call that I never wanted to get.  My mother called to let me know that an Army chaplain and two Officers arrived with news of my brothers death.  Words do no justice to the anguish and pain that I felt and still feel.  Glen Jacob Whetten loved what he did and was good at it.  He had a desire to serve his country before he was even old enough to enlist.  He joined right after turning 18 and left for boot camp at Fort Benning soon after High School graduation from South High School in Phoenix, AZ. He was first assigned to the 24th Infantry Division(I think) out of Hawaii.  There he became jump qualified and of course expert marksman.  His goal was to become an Ranger, an Airborne Ranger!  Those dreams were realized and he later was re-assigned to the 82nd, an Airborne Ranger Division.
