Growing up, I saw the news on television or in the newspapers and thought,'this is the way it is.' As I grew up and grew wiser to the ways of our media I saw the bias. I was shocked, to say the least. I then realized that to really know what was going on in the community, state or nation that I needed to educate myself. I took a statistics class which shed a lot of light on polling. This is one of the 'liberal' media's favorite tools of misinformation. For instance, if I ask who someone is going to vote for at an gay-pride rally, I can expect the responses to reflect liberal candidates. It is not brain surgery, which I understand to be quite difficult. Bias? Really? No Way! What has got me now is that they do not even try to hide the bias. The liberal media want Mr. Obama to be the President so bad it visibly pains them to give any time at all to Mccain . After watching and listening to Obama's speech yesterday in Berlin, I found myself musing on a variety of topics. First, I think it is the first time I have ever seen a campaign speech in a foreign country to throngs of adoring fans. He told the crowd that "together" they would all work on a better tomorrow. I don't know about you, but this scares the snot right out of me. Its as though he is running for President of the World. And to listen to his platform and to inspect his record, however small it might be, he just might be. If it was not so scary it would be funny. Obama's campaign is steamrolling right along. So, I have been thinking. I know, you're thinking, slow down and breath deeply. Seriously, I've been thinking about the DC Gun ban and what it means to me. And to you for that matter. Happy birthday America! Today we celebrate the Declaration of Independence (Actually passed July 2). It is altogether fitting and proper to take a few moments to look back at what that document did. It stated what no other document had up till this time. It is the single most perfect document ever created by man. Greater even than the Constitution. It came forward and placed the power of this new nation in the hands of the people. It was a drastic measure unheard of in the world. I feel it necessary to pay tribute to a fellow patriot who has gone the way of all the earth. My dear Father-in-Law Ron, who treated me as much like a son as his own awesome boys, died July 3, 2008. I will always treasure his words of wisdom and his 'tell it like it is' attitude. Ron learned to shoot from his father at a young age and passed that down to his own sons. It was always a pleasure to accompany him to the range and shoot off a few reloads. Ron was a straight shooter and had a sense of humor that sometimes only he understood. He was a genuinely happy man, and his smile was contagious . He was a proud father, grandfather, friend, husband, son, and brother. He follows his mother, sister,brother and father in death.
