The Un-Fairness Doctrine.

Personally what liberals on the left are calling the revival of the fairness doctrine is anything but fair. A more appropriate name would be the silence doctrine or the censorship bill. It is no secret that the mainstream media is very left leaning. In fact, if they leaned any more to the left they would walk in constant circles. And yet liberals are threatened.

For years liberals controlled what the American people saw on the news. Then with technology came cable television and more and more choices. Operating on the free market approach, many conservative news choices found their way into the American living room. Fox News to name but the most known. It was immediately dubbed the 'new media' and chastised for being too conservative. But now there was a choice, and there was a market for what was being offered. Fox News is now more watched than ever, offering an arguably(not by me) fair and balanced program. Viewers voted with their remotes.

Even with Fox News and a handful of shows, the lefts hold on the mainstream media is secure, as witnessed by the 'pass' Obama received throughout the Presidential campaign. One medium that is dominated by conservatives is talk radio. And it is the only medium that is. Hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and with my Sirius subscription, two of my favorites, Mike Church and Andrew Wilkow blast the airwaves with the common sense conservatives are craving.

It is not as if liberal talk radio is not allowed. It is simply not successful. As witnessed by the Washington DC radio station that just decided to change formats because liberal talk radio is not successful. And it is not because of a lack of liberals. But what does a liberal talk show offer that a liberal does not get from any number of other sources. The reason Conservative talk radio is so lucrative, other than the fact that it is compelling radio, is there are few choices for conservatives to listen to, read, or watch for that matter.

So, even as liberals spend our grand children's generation down the river, conservatives are banding together and being informed of what is really going on. We are telling our friends and neighbors and more and more of us are calling to tell those in Washington to cease and desist. Rather than listen to America, they wish to simply do as they always do and keep America in the dark. Tell them one thing and do another. Always playing to the special interests and always blaming someone else when things go wrong. And of course proposing new spending to fix EVERYTHING!

We, the New Sons and Daughters of Liberty, in the same spirit of our forefathers, are drawing the proverbial line in the sand, and more and more of us are finding our voice. We must stand up to the propaganda and the hype. We must de-program those who have been indoctrinated. This may mean that we stand out in the crowd or speak up when we would rather not. But remember what our forefathers fought and died for. It was for something better than themselves. I for one feel the need to fight for my grand children's generation.
